Clubs for Children at Newton Hall Equitation Centre, Suffolk

NHEC - CHILDRENS CLUBS

Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year

We offer a range of weekend clubs to cater for a wide range of interests and experience.

We aim to give our young riders opportunities to learn about horses and their care as well as practical horsemanship skills.

SHETLAND CLUB - Saturday


Time:	9am -12 noon
Cost:	£26 per session (members) £27 (non members)
Age:	5+
Experience:	Some riding ability needed
Activities:	Children will spend their morning learning how to groom, tack up, and generally care for a pony (under full supervision) and riding (should preferably be able to ride off lead rein at walk). The riding session is divided by numbers into two groups who ride for half hour and the other half of the group is given one pony to practice various exercises and handling The groups then change tasks at half time. The children learn about the various tasks which are related to caring for ponies.

DARTMOOR CLUB - Sunday


Time:	9am -12 noon
Cost:	£26 per session members - £27 non members
Age:	5+ approximately
Experience:	Some riding ability needed

CONNEMARA CLUB - Saturday

9am -12noon

Cost:

£29 members - £30 non-members

Age:

Suitable for older children - following the same lines as above but with riding for 1 hour session.

Experience:

Riders must have passed Progressive Riding Test 2

Activities:

Practical sessions include sections on grassland management, show preparation, traveling, and more in-depth stable management sessions

NEW FOREST CLUB - Sunday

Time:

9am -12noon

Cost:

£28 members - £29 non-members

Age:

9 -14 approximately

Experience:

Should preferably be able to canter.

Activities:

Following similar programmes to Connemara Club but slightly less experienced riders.

WELSH CLUB - Saturday

Time:

2pm - 5pm

Cost:

£28 members - £29 non members

Age:

For the younger child who is keen to improve their riding and horse care skills.

Experience:

Must be able to walk and trot off lead rein.

Activities:

EXMOOR CLUB - Sunday

Time:

2pm - 5pm

Cost:

£28 members - £29 non members

Age:

For the younger child who is keen to improve their riding and horse care skills.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Members pay an annual fee of £12.00 which entitles them to a guaranteed place in their selected club and various discounts from other activities, such as Games Mornings, Own a Pony Days, etc. Please ask in the office for a membership application form.

Please note that the above age groups are only a guide - some children have more riding experience than others and some learn more quickly than others.

Above all we want your child to enjoy the learning experience and to meet other children with a similar interest. Riding should be FUN!
