An "owner" grooming their charge
  • Ride for up to 2 hours each day as the pony may have work with NIHEC riders. It is not necessary to ride every day as the pony will need a rest day.

  • Ask a NHEC staff member to check your tack before leaving the yard.

  • Exercise in the following areas only:

School
Arenas One or Two

Newton Hall Arena

Please shut all gates behind you.

  • Only hack out with NHEC staff permission. This is to be around Newton Hall fields with a suitable (senior) companion.

  • You may join organised hacks with NHEC staff permission. This is best booked at least 24 hours in advance via the office, and will incur a fee of £3.50.

  • Do NOT make your pony blow or sweat unduly and do NOT jump more than 6 fences in one day. Please do not cut up the ground.

  • Look after "your" pony as much as you can. Please groom, clean tack, pick out feet after work and help with stable yard duties. Staff will help you.

  • Have a good, safe time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask a member of the NHEC staff..
